Actress Deepika Padukone on Wednesday shared a brand of her much-awaited motion picture “Padmavati” — thus starting the promotions of the movie, which was mired in controversy through its shoot over its subject matter.
The initially glance of the motion picture will be unveiled on Thursday.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali — known for his grand period dramas — “Padmavati” also features Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
“Padmavati” tells the tale of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-period Delhi ruler who fell in love with Rajput queen Padmavati.

In January, activists of outfit Shri Rajput Karni Sena had assaulted Bhansali and vandalised the movie’s Jaipur established over alleged distortions in the film’s script.
Later, the moment the filmmaker had moved the film’s shoot to Maharashtra, an outdoor established of the historic period drama in Kohlapur was diminished to ashes just after two dozen unknown people torched it in March.
